The Gate Problem in Ghaziabad and Faridabad Plants

A plant floor with contract labour and shift workers has a real evacuation problem: when the siren goes off, who's supposed to be accounted for, and against what list? Ghaziabad and Faridabad: Two Different Gate Realities

Ghaziabad's Sahibabad Site 4 and Bulandshahr Road belt is largely engineering, steel, and electricals, with transporter and scrap traffic that needs a gate process built around vehicle numbers and material passes as much as visitor photos. The Kavi Nagar and Raj Nagar Extension offices, and the commercial towers in Vaishali and Indirapuram, are a different problem entirely — mostly walk-in visitors and vendor meetings, closer in shape to what we've written about for Noida and Greater Noida.

Faridabad's Sectors 24–27 and 58–59, the NIT industrial area, and the Ballabgarh and Palwal Road plants run auto components, engineering, and textile units with contract labour gangs and heavy vehicle traffic through the same gate as staff and visitors. That mix — a transporter's truck, a vendor's engineer, and a fresh labour contractor's team, all arriving within the same hour — is exactly where a paper register breaks down fastest, and where checking every contractor in on a pass of their own earns its place.

What to Measure Once the Gate Is Live

A safety officer or client auditor should be able to answer three questions from the searchable and exportable register without calling anyone: who was on site at a given hour, who is still inside past their pass end time, and how many people are still marked "inside" at shift close. If any of those three takes more than a minute to answer, the gate process — not the tablet — needs another look. Reversal-with-reason entries and the blocked list are worth reviewing weekly, since refused attempts by blocked people are not logged; a pattern of reversals at one gate usually points to a training gap, not a system fault.
